New Roosevelt High School Head Coach

The Roosevelt Lacrosse Board is excited to announce Drew Wright as the 2017-2018 Head Coach.

BIO:

About Head Coach Drew Wright:

Coach Drew was born and raised in the suburbs of New York City.  He started playing lacrosse at the age of five. During his time in high school, he primarily played Goalie.  In his senior season, he was Captain of his team and was named All-Section, All-League and All-County Honorable mention. He went on to play Club lacrosse at North Carolina State University, where he was the starting goalie for 4 years.

He moved to Seattle 19 years ago and has been playing for the Coopers Men’s Club team for 17 years. Over those 17 years he has been a continual captain, and helped to lead the team to 13 championships.  He was men’s league president for 7 years. Playing for Coopers has kept his prospective on lacrosse fresh, enabled him to play each position on the field and kept him involved in the growing Seattle lacrosse landscape.

Coach Drew has been working with players and coaching over the past 10 years. Initially providing individual goalie coaching to players (including those at Roosevelt), then moving to being head coach of his son’s North Seattle Lacrosse team for 3 years and most recently for the past 3 years he was the head coach at Nathan Hale high school.

Coach Drew is extremely excited for the opportunity to coach for Roosevelt. He believes that coach Andy and the Board have put together a great foundation to build upon and will continue the improvement of the program on and off the field. He is looking forward to meeting with the team (and families) as soon as possible!

When he’s not coaching, or playing lacrosse, Coach Drew is the father of two children, Logan and Lucy. He is a Production Supervisor at local Bio-tech company. He also likes to ski, golf, play tennis and can be found playing drums around the city and state with his band
